Kevin Skillin F.I.o.R.

Kevin started working life as a trainee accountant and following successful completion of business studies courses took a completely different pathway for his vocation; as a roofing/building contractor. Kevin’s experience includes the whole spectrum of construction where he has contracted directly with national corporations including ICI, Carrington Vyella and Thorn.

Following qualifying with the Institute of Roofing, Kevin was commissioned by architects and surveyors where his remit was fault find, specifying and calculation of a realistic market rate so his clients could approach the market for quotations on an informed basis: This progressed to contractor management due to client demands.

Kevin has been listed in the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and he has been commissioned by various constabularies and stood as expert witness for Trading Standards on building related issues.

In 1988 Kevin began looking at claims for insurers and by 1995 was accepted as an Ordinary Member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA). Due to his method successfully combating fraud, betterment and exaggeration with excellent customer satisfaction Imperial Consultants Ltd have gained increasing levels of delegated authority with increasing volumes almost every single year.

During Imperial’s development Kevin has created and copywritten a bespoke “Pricing Programme” to calculate realistic market rates on a national basis. A milestone in Imperial’s national recognition was Kevin’s creation and development of the surveyor 5-day “Residential Training Programme”, which has been accredited by the Chartered Institute of Insurers (CII) and is re-evaluated by the CII’s inspectors on an annual basis to affirm that additions and enhancements are delivered to the same exacting standards.

Since 1988 Kevin has dealt directly with the heads of claims and procurement to discuss industry philosophies and share innovative ideas. He has an understanding of the varying views throughout the industry which benefits Imperial Consultants and Imperial’s clients.
